Can someone please explain to me how “Previous”, in an arrow pointing to the left, should mean going to posts which have been made closer to the present? As in - posts which did not come before, or previous to, the posts you are currently reading? I just can’t get my head around it.
Imagine if you didn’t have a diary, just loose leaf paper. Every time you wrote an entry, you would place that piece of paper on top of your “diary pile”. The bottom page in the diary pile would be your first entry, and the top would be your most recent. Right?
So now you’re flipping through the pages like a book, but even so, whenever somebody writes a new entry, they add it to the front/top of the pile.

Sort of. It is a good analogy, Lise. So I guess “Previous” is really “posts you have read most recently” assuming that you are reading from most current into the past. It’s still not intuitive for me though. I much prefer “Earlier” or “Older”, directing you to the opposite of “Previous”, but also pointing to the left.

I’m gonna go ahead and assume that in most cases if I am following you, than you are following me. Which means that I am, as you have read below, listening to the music you post while I work. Now, imagine how much greater my life would be if YOU made a muxtape! Than I could listen to all/twelve of your favourite songs consecutively, without having to switch at the end of each one. But, maybe your goal isn’t to make my life better, so instead think how it would enhance your life - it would! You could play it for your children twenty years from now! You can give it to your friends! You can tell the next girl you are trying to charm that you put it together for her! The benefits are endless.
In the end, whatever your reason, please make a muxtape and tumbl it!

It’s called “reading individual tumblrs instead of my dashboard”. Now, I know its not revolutionary - but I think it’ll be good. It’s really a totally different experience, in my opinion, and allows you to focus more on what each person as a whole is posting, instead of just the individual posts. It’ll take a bit more time, but I think it’s worth it.
